20 June 2022 - Dvernik Mala

We left Chris to sleep and went to get the water taxi back into town for our shopping, only to find that while it ran every 15 minutes over the weekend, it only started operating in the late afternoon during the week.  As a result we decided to walk to town and get a taxi back.  We had been advised to go to the market for our fresh supplies, and managed to get fish, bread, fruit and veg, cheese, meat of various types and home made wine.  The quality of it all was excellent and the stall holders were clearly selling their own produce.  Fantastic.

We passed this enormous cemetery on the way to town.

Then we were off.  A relatively short trip today, and with the intention of avoiding the charter boat fleets. Our destination was Dvernik Mala, a small and isolated bay, where we had to put down the anchor and shore lines.  This proved to be difficult as there was a cross wind blowing, and while I was swimming ashore and almost there, the boat swung away, pulling me backwards through the water.  We managed to resolve this and  cut my hands on the sharp rocks as I clambered ashore.  A lesson learnt.  Subsequently we put a second line ashore, and got the whole setup better under control
