We were delighted to have a nice chat with Henry, first thing. Then breakfast, which in the hotel is rather limited but it is a novelty to have cake.
In two days, we've made great progress sorting things out down bellow in the boat, before she goes in the water. It is remarkably clean, especially compared to last year, but that, I guess is the difference between a five month absence over a twenty-two month absence.

We're learning fast, how to get the best from the cafes and restaurants. The style is so different. Order a salad and a huge bowl of lettuce comes, but we've cottoned on to the need to ask for the extras, like tomatoes. The food is just so tasty, even when it's something very simple. It was great to have learned a lot about Italian food from Chris, last year, so we can ask for things we wouldn't have otherwise known about, like Aranchini. It looks a bit like a Scotch egg, but is a ball of risotto, with a meat or cheese filling, covered in breadcrumbs and deep fried. Absolutely yum. Last night we ate at a very typical Sicilian restaurant. We were glad we had gone promptly and were pushing the doors when they opened, because, after a short while, it was packed. I had a primi of spaghetti with sardines, capers, pine nuts and raisins; an unusual mixture for us.
People in the shops are delightfully helpful. There are two guys in the chandlery that are a real giggle: taking selfies when we took in the old flares for disposal. This was after I suggested they send a photo of the white collision flares to their supplier, as they had never seen white flares before and weren't sure if they could get them. They are going to try. This is all done with their limited English and our, even more limited Italian.
