22 April 2022 - Termini Imerese

This morning was mainly taken up with re provisioning, which was made much easier by the Termini Friday market. As we wanted fish, we were there straight after breakfast, before the crowds arrived. The market stretches along for about half a mile, with mainly clothes stalls, but there’s a square off the main drag, with a fish stall, several greengrocers, cheese stalls and those selling nuts and dried fruit. We came away laden. It seems that people come from far and wide, and, despite relaxation of the rules, over 90% of people had FFP2 masks on, even outdoors.

After a coffee further shopping in the supermarket and we were well stocked up. Provisions are cheap here so it’s worth filling up the larder cupboards.

Although the wind had dropped overnight, it blew up again in the afternoon, so it was good to be in port. Today’s wind came from the west, so, thankfully, didn’t bring further dust with it.

The passerelle was not so daunting today

The afternoon I spent planning the next few days. There’s high pressure coming, which means calmer weather conditions.

As I write, I can hear the thumping of night club music, we may be jumping to the beat before long.
