19 June 2022 - Trogir

The marina had steadily emptied yesterday, and today the vast majority of the remaining boats left, leaving vast empty spaces. It felt as if we had said something wrong, and everyone had walked out on us.

We set to with the chores, and rushed to the launderette early as there were only a couple of machines.  We had just set them going, when our German neighbours arrived with exactly the same idea.  They looked a bit disappointed that they would have to wait until our loads were finished.  In the course of this, Tricia met one of the cleaning staff, who it turned out had been born and grow up in Australia, before returning to Croatia with her parents. As a result, her English was perfect and she commented that it was amusing when she went into the office, as all of the clients ended up talking to her rather than the office staff.

The same view as one of the photos from yesterday

Our son Chris duly arrived in the afternoon, and we spent time hanging out by the swimming pool. There was a young boy there, who clearly could swim.  He also had a kind if "James Bond" of underwater propeller to drive him through the water.  It looked great fun and he was clearly enjoying himself.

In the evening, we took the water taxi into town for a meal, and again encountered our German neighbours on the same mission.  After we had eaten, we bumped into them again in the water taxi on the way back.  We were clearly leading parallel lives today.
