4 June 2021 - Bari

As we were planning to move on tomorrow, we had to spend part of the day shopping for food. We were recommended to a fish shop and a supermarket.  This was sufficiently well stocked, that we needed a taxi to take us back to the marina.  We will not starve!

It is now very hot during the day, and so it was a great relief to be washing down the decks in the early afternoon.  It is refreshing for the water to spray over you, and hopefully it cooled the boat a little as well.

In the early evening we walked into town for some retail therapy. And we have discovered a benefit of Brexit (at last). When we were paying for our purchases, the guy in the shop asked where we were from and said that we could shop duty free.  There was long forms to be filled in, but hopefully we will be able to reclaim the tax element later. We will not be holding our breath, but just maybe....

The marina / boatyard is next door to the university sports complex, and as we came past we heard a lot of noice coming from within. There was a volleyball match in progress, and the crowd were cheering and blasting vuvuzellas. Even back at the boat later we could hear it very easily.  They seemed to be having a great time.
