Today we headed to Biograd, where we will leave the boat for July and August. The wind gave us a nice sailing angle to enjoy Chris’s last day with us. The last part of the journey snaked in between some small islands with quite shallow water. It is so pretty. I can understand the appeal to the locals, of taking a little motorboat to one of the bays, for the day.
Biograd is a holiday town, with ferries to-ing and
fro-ing to the nearby islands. The fishing boats were tied up on the town quay
for the day. We had to dodge the ferries to get to the fuel pontoon, then made
our way round to the very crowded marina. There are also large charter fleets
here, as in Trogir, and it’s change over day. We dodged through the newly
arrived charter boats coming out and made our way through the narrow passage to
our berth, in an excellent spot, just next to the marinero’s station.
We had a great welcome from the marina staff. We’re going to be happy leaving the boat here. It has been around 36C in the afternoons for the past few days, and will be, for the next week, so we’re happy we have done the right thing in returning home for a while. Inside the boat heats up, like an oven and the AC is struggling to reduce the temperature at all.
We had a superb meal in one of the restaurants in town, to finish off a lovely day. Sitting out on a terrace for dinner in the evening, is an absolute treat, but the price to pay for it, is the blistering afternoon heat.
