29 August 2022 - Biograd

It’s been a superb day, although on the one one hand it feels as though we haven’t done very much, and yet, on the other hand, we have achieved a lot.

We’ve made a start on restocking the food supplies, and found where to go back for more, in this delightful little holiday town. We have decided where we go during the next three to four weeks, and the boat is nearer to being ready to go.

There’s a superb open air market a very short distance down the road, where we can buy the freshest fish, fruit and vegetables. I have never before tasted such delicious fresh figs. The taste is completely different to those we buy at home in the UK.

We have put out out the safety equipment and ropes of various descriptions on deck. All we need now, is the spray hood to come back from the having repairs to it, and the boat is good shape.

We had the delight, in the early evening, of Stevo and Jasna making a surprise visit, whilst they were passing through. They have given us some great tips on the bays to head for during the next few weeks. It was an absolute pleasure to see them and exchange news of summer travels.

We plan to make our way up to Istria. I have read so much about how beautiful it is, and how many relics of ancient history there are. It is a must see place. If we get over to Venice too, that will be a bonus, but we’re not holding our breath that there will be enough time for that. We are loving being in Croatia just now. What a treat it was to have dinner on deck tonight, under a starry sky.
