The weather seems set for another day or so, and we decided to stay on in Medulin bay. We are anchored near an island / peninsular which has significant remains of a Roman villa, so we set off in the dinghy again to explore the park that it is located in. We subsequently discovered that it had previously been connected to the mainland by a different causeway, and we were aware that the water went quite shallow as we crossed it. We found another convenient landing stage and tied up, before walking the circuit of the island. It would have been a wonderful place to have your holiday villa, 1000 years agojust as it would today if it were allowed. There are remains of a number of buildings and signs of economic activity and a small port.

During the day we saw plenty of aircraft, and are aware that there is an airport nearby. It did seem to be the same livery on all the planes, and eventually I looked it up on the internet, to discover that it was a single plane doing circuits. It was a commercial size plane, so it must have been some sort of pilot training. Fifteen mile loops, as if stacking over Heathrow!
