2 October 2022 - Uvala Landin, Otok Pasman

At last we have a few days break from the weather systems that have kept us in the marina for the last week.

After some last minute food shopping for bread & fish, we slipped out of Marina Kornati around midday.

It was great to be out on the water and it’s been a beautiful day. We estimated that there must have been about a hundred yachts in sight in the bay. There are still plenty of people coming on charters.

We only planned to get to a bay on the west side of the island of Pasman, less than ten miles away, after a last minute change of plan. The latest weather forecast means we have to be sheltered from, potentially, a force 4/5 wind from the east tomorrow morning.

Our journey took us past a large fish farm and then into a delightfully unspoiled bay, with high ground protecting us.

There were only a handful of boats on the mooring buoys, with a quiet relaxed feel, during the afternoon and by evening only about ten. Even the two boats full of “lads on tour” weren’t as noisy as they might have been. We were amused by hearing Eye of the Tiger, being sung in Croatian, drifting across the water.

After darkness had fallen, we had a most amazing view of the carpet of stars, because there was so little background light. There are no street lights, on the land, to be seen, and it’s only a half moon, so it is very dark.
